Indian Creek extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Indiana Football this week by beating South Decatur, 60-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Braves.
Milan and Shenandoah played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Milan eventually emerging with a 43-37 victory. Gavin Detraz threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 21 yards in the win.
Indian Creek's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matthew Wray threw for 357 and four touchdowns and Brenden Smith had 126 yards receiving. On the ground Dokken Egenolf chipped in 152 yards. Ethan Whitaker helped Indian Creek's passing attack out by catching four balls for 93 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Chris Johannigman of the Cougars is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2102. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, North Decatur's Jason Kirchhoff has rushed for 1162 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Smith. The Indian Creek star has 59 catches for 876 yards.
Anthony Ankney's team's Wray is within 56 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Rushville. So far this year, Wray has thrown for 1944 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.
The Braves made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,873 from 4,228. The improvement was the result of 60-6 victory over South Decatur last week.
