Linden got a massive performance out of Lily Alonso, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those five hits gave Alonso a new career-high. Millee Holguin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lindhurst was not the first on the board last Wednesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against San Juan as they made off with a 20-6 win.
Lindhurst let Kimberly Diaz-Valadez and Summer Miller run wild. Diaz-Valadez went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Miller went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Diaz-Valadez continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Linden's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Lindhurst, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Linden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Lindhurst struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
