The Waterford Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Fitch by a score of 72-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), Waterford still had to take the loss.
Fitch found their leader in underclassman Xavier Goode, who scored 30 points along with six steals. Goode hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvon "JJ" Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.
Waterford dropped their record down to 7-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Fitch, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Coincidentally, Waterford and the Falcons will both be playing the Vikings the next time they take the court. Waterford will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
