Volleyball Recap: Conway Springs Starts off Right with Win over Eureka

Conway Springs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They won by a set and slipped past the Eureka Tornadoes 2-1. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Conway Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-19, 25-17.

Reece Johnson paced Conway Springs' offense, picking up 14 kills. Johnson got some help from Lanie Hartman and her 25 assists. Lairen Pauly controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Eureka now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Conway Springs and Eureka will both be playing Flinthills the next time they take the court. The Tornadoes will host the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cardinals will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
