Last Friday, Marcos de Niza came up short against Mesquite and fell 61-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marcos de Niza in their matchups with Mesquite: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite their defeat, Marcos de Niza saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dj Drew, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Steward was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Arcadia suffered their closest loss since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Seton Catholic by a score of 50-47. Arcadia just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Marcos de Niza has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Arcadia, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Marcos de Niza and Arcadia were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting last Wednesday, but Marcos de Niza came up empty-handed after a 62-61 defeat. Can Marcos de Niza avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
