The Clovis East Timberwolves will challenge the Whitney Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Clovis East 2, Whitney 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Clovis East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Elk Grove by a score of 4-1.
Chloe Solis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Eliana Massicci was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Whitney entered their tilt with Archbishop Mitty on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Monarchs with a sharp 12-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Whitney also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Taylor Cordell gave up four earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Lulu Im was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Whitney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Whitney's victory bumped their record up to 25-8. As for Clovis East, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.
