The Allen Eagles and the North Crowley Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Allen Eagles had to settle for second. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Allen's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Allen still got an impressive performance from Amir Mcdowell, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Caleb Smith was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Crowley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Searl, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Chris Jimerson, who threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Allen's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for North Crowley, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Allen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Crowley will square off against Duncanville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Duncanville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 598 points over their last 12 contests.
