At the plate, Aaron Hobson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Finley Insko also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Eastern had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Colonels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Colonels since April 27, 2017.
Aidan Calhoun tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Shee, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Eastern's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Tates Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Tates Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastern in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, sneaking past 3-2. Will Tates Creek repeat their success, or does Eastern has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
