Baseball Recap: Apollo Wins Going Away Against Shadow Ridge

Apollo won the last time they faced Shadow Ridge and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hawks were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Stallions. Considering the Hawks have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jesus Beltran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Diego Ramos was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Roberto Quinones also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Apollo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shadow Ridge only posted a batting average of .250.

The win made it two in a row for Apollo and bumps their season record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Shadow Ridge, they now have a losing record of 11-12-2.

Apollo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against West Point on the 18th. As for Shadow Ridge, they will square off against Valley Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
