Meanwhile, The Academy ended up a good deal behind the Pumas on Thursday and lost 66-48. The Academy has not had much luck with the Pumas recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Trey Boychuk, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Dominik Konarski was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
The Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kent Denver pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.2 points per game. As for The Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Kent Denver have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39 rebounds per game. However, it's not like The Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
