Hazleton Area had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with  a   4-1  win over the Hempfield Black Knights  on Monday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won seven  games in a row.
Hazleton Area got a great performance from  Fred Corrado as he  tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Corrado has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Bryant Diaz was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chris Knelly, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  RBI.
Hazleton Area's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Hempfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-2.
As of now, neither Hazleton Area nor the Black Knights have any future games scheduled.
