While losing is never fun, Charlotte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Charlotte Country Day School is ranked 64th).
Despite the defeat, Charlotte Christian saw an underclassman step up: Terence Guess scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guess has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Rosen, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Charlotte Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Charlotte Country Day School, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian will square off against Providence Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Day will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they will head out on the road to take on Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cannon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 22 contests -- so hopefully Charlotte Country Day School likes a good challenge.
