The Irvin Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Patterson Institute Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Irvin had to suffer through a rough 59-22 loss at the hands of the Panthers. Irvin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Patterson Institute's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by Clint 54-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Patterson Institute in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost seven in a row.
Irvin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Patterson Institute, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Irvin came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Irvin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
