The Lutheran North Lions had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Northland Christian 103-49 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lutheran North has posted since November 9, 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Northland Christian lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Andon "AJ" Newton. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Pallanez, who scored 17 points.
Lutheran North's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for Northland Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran North will take on St. Francis Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northland Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alpha Omega Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
