Mayde Creek pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Katy Taylor. Mayde Creek has not had much luck with Katy Taylor recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Mayde Creek had strong showings from Jamal Chretien ii, who scored 21 points, and Christian Gibson, who scored 23 points along with four steals. The match was Gibson's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryan Hightower, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Morton Ranch scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, Tompkins still came out on top. Tompkins took their match against Morton Ranch 83-71. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tompkins.
Mayde Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Tompkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.
Mayde Creek was dealt a bruising 105-69 loss at the hands of Tompkins in their previous meeting back in January. Can Mayde Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
