Even though the Bendle Tigers scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Beecher Buccaneers still came out on top. Beecher enjoyed a cozy 73-59 victory over Bendle. The victory was all the more spectacular given Beecher's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Bendle is ranked 124th).
Despite the loss, Bendle still got an impressive performance from Malik Neal, who scored 14 points along with five assists. The matchup was Neal's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Alomar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Beecher, bringing their record for this year to 3-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.67 points. As for Bendle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-1.
Beecher won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ottawa Hills at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. As for Bendle, they will head out on the road to face off against Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
