Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mcclatchy

McClatchy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Grant Pacers. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Jayeliza Rogers was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Jaydilyn Rogers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

McClatchy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

McClatchy pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Grant, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClatchy will host Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Grant, they will welcome Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pacers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
