The Madison-Grant Argylls pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-64 to Tri-Central. While losing is never fun, Madison-Grant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Tri-Central is ranked 139th).
Several Argylls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clayton Hull, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Hull's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Teagan Yeagy, who scored 18 points.
Tri-Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drake Ramseyer out in front who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Landon Grant was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Madison-Grant has fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 2-4. As for Tri-Central, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Madison-Grant and Yorktown will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. Tri-Central and Alexandria-Monroe will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
