There's no place like home for Alton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Cahokia Comanches on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Redbirds in their matchups with the Comanches: they've now won six in a row.

Alton easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16.

Ja'Kayla Steen paced Alton's offense, picking up four kills. Steen got some help from Renea Durham and her four assists. Steen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madeleine Ducey, racking up four apiece.

Alton's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Cahokia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Alton and Cahokia will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Redbirds will square off against rival Edwardsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cahokia is set to take on their familiar foe Centralia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
