Air Academy is 0-6 against Rampart since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Air Academy Kadets will head out on the road to face off against the Rampart Rams at 7:00 p.m. Air Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Air Academy ended up a good deal behind Falcon and lost 42-25.
Despite the defeat, Air Academy got a solid performance out of Gabe Dillemuth, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Madax Daniels, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Rampart strolled past Vista Ridge with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-19. The victory was just what Rampart needed coming off of a 47-21 loss in their prior contest.
Rampart relied on the efforts of Camden Bruns, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown, and Maciu Ramaqa, who rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Rampart's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Justus Derickson and Peter Richardson who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Air Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Rampart, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Air Academy came up short against Rampart in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 21-14. Can Air Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
