The Montour Spartans entered their tilt with the West Allegheny Indians with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Montour blew past West Allegheny 49-17 at home. Considering Montour has won five games by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jake Wolfe was his usual excellent self, throwing for 397 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown. Wolfe hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Keino Fitzpatrick ii, who picked up 191 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, West Allegheny still got an impressive performance from Brock Cornell, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Montour's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 New Castle and 2-8 Ambridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.5% over those games). As for West Allegheny, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Montour does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Allegheny also has no future games currently scheduled.
