The Forest Wildcats will square off against The Villages Charter Buffalo at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Forest came up short against Belleview and fell 14-11.

Makenna Boyd was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Olivia Lewis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahri Lingle, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, The Villages Charter got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Umatilla. The Buffalo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Layla Farrish was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Lexy Sanchez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Forest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for The Villages Charter, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8.
Both Forest and The Villages Charter just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like The Villages Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against The Villages Charter when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffalo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
