Pueblo East is 2-8 against Pueblo Central since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pueblo East will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Pueblo South, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 13-7 win on Thursday.
Luciana Cervantes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emilee Hutchings was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amilyana Chavez, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Pueblo East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pueblo Central waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 6-0 shutout.
Not much got past Mariah Romero, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep La Junta off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophia Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Pueblo East's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 10-9. As for Pueblo Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-3-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Pueblo East has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Pueblo Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
