The Sandhills/Thedford Knights fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.
Maywood/Hayes Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haydn Farr led the charge by scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Ingison, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Sandhills/Thedford bumped their record down to 8-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Sandhills/Thedford will head out on the road to square off against Sandhills Valley on Tuesday. Sandhills Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Sandhills/Thedford is ranked 90th). As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they will be playing at home against Bertrand at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
