Julia Kinney and Tori Carr certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Kinney posted 14 points along with eight boards and six steals, while Carr scored seven points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Kinney continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Leah Smith was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-13 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and six steals for Broadwater Academy. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kacey Ford, who had seven points.
Denbigh Baptist Christian dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Broadwater Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Denbigh Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broadwater Academy, they will host Chincoteague at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
