Maret is 2-8 against Jackson-Reed since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Frogs will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Maret is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Maret is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Albans.

Devin Trendl was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Maret is 4-2 when Trendl allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Knights. Considering the Tigers have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Keith Parham looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Petar Dunn was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Gore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Jackson-Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .789. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Jackson-Reed's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Maret, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Maret has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Jackson-Reed struggles in that department as they've averaged .525. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maret couldn't quite get it done against Jackson-Reed when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 7-2. Will the Frogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
