Collinsville is 3-0 against Triad since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Collinsville Kahoks will get right back to it and host the Triad Knights at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Collinsville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
On Wednesday, Collinsville strolled past Decatur Eisenhower with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. Given Collinsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Decatur Eisenhower is ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Collinsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zach Chambers out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Chambers hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Horras, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Triad made off with a 41-40 win over Carbondale. The win made it back-to-back wins for Triad.
Collinsville pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Triad, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Collinsville strolled past Triad in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 by a score of 70-53. Does Collinsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Triad turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
