This season hasn't been kind to the Unity Christian Lions, who are still winless after their fourth match. They received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 48-31 to Arthur-Okaw Christian. While losing is never fun, Unity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Arthur-Okaw Christian is ranked 163rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arthur-Okaw Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Herschberger, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals. Herschberger is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Erwin, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Unity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Unity Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
