BRADENTON, Fla. - A big 28-point first quarter helped carry the Wildcats to a 35-7 victory over
Southeast (Bradenton, Fla.) on Saturday.
Hardee scored on a touchdown run by
Keyonte Holley, a touchdown catch by
Jacob Bolin, a
Timmy Steedley touchdown run and a touchdown catch by
Nelson Bethea in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Deanthony Warrick in the first quarter, HHS led 28-7 at the half.
The Wauchula school grew its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. The Wildcats scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Holley.
With the win Hardee extended its winning streak to six games. Hardee defeated Bayshore 46-13 last week.
Southeast's only touchdown came on a pass from undefined to Warrick in the first quarter.
HHS went into the matchup giving up only 8.0 points per game. Southeast's seven points were well below their season average of 20.6 per game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Southeast took, 44-10.
The loss comes after Southeast defeated DeSoto County 42-25 last week.
Southeast (2-7) will play a 5A District 13 game against Booker next week, while Hardee (7-1) will take on DeSoto County also in a 5A District 13 game.
