Indian Creek hasn't had much luck against Harrison Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Redskins will take on the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Indian Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Indian Creek lost 8-2 to Beaver Local on Wednesday. The contest marked the Redskins' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
McKenna Scott was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Scott was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Riley Sadler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Vok, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Harrison Central put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for East Liverpool. The Huskies put the hurt on the Potters with a sharp 13-0 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Emma Skinner's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Olivia Tonkovich was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kelsey Powers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Harrison Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Harrison Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
