Even though the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles have not done well against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bald Eagle Area secured a 37-33 W over Bellwood-Antis. The win was nothing new for Bald Eagle Area as they're now sitting on five straight.
Bellwood-Antis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Caracciolo, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Caracciolo's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Schreier, who scored no points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Bald Eagle Area pushed their record up to 5-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Bellwood-Antis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bald Eagle Area's road trip will continue as they head out to face Richland at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Richland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will head out on the road to face off against Chestnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chestnut Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bellwood-Antis in Pennsylvania (Chestnut Ridge is ranked 60th, while Bellwood-Antis is ranked 591st).
