The North Port Bobcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 76-28 loss at the hands of Venice. North Port has struggled against Venice recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, North Port saw an underclassman step up: Taylor Davidson scored 15 points.
North Port struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Venice's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Magdalena Daukaus led the charge by scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Daukaus scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Martin, who scored 12 points along with six assists.
North Port's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Venice, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
North Port will take on Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parrish Community will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Venice does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
