Macomb has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Macomb will be strutting in after a victory while Bushnell-Prairie City will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Macomb didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Illini West, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. Given Macomb's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Illini West is ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bushnell-Prairie City suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 last Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of Farmington.
Macomb's win was their 21st straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Everything came up roses for Macomb against Bushnell-Prairie City when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 54-27 win. Will Macomb repeat their success, or does Bushnell-Prairie City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
