They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 59-13 victory over West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]. The result was nothing new for Camp Point Central, who have now won eight matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.
Camp Point Central had a senior duo take command as Jack Thompson gained 163 total yards and a touchdown and Wyatt Schemerhorn rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Thompson's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.
When it comes to explaining why West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] lost, one person who can't be blamed is Conner Turner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Camp Point Central's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42 points. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Camp Point Central will be playing at home against Red Hill at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Camp Point Central is ranked 80th). As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they will head out on the road to face off against Salt Fork at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Salt Fork will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
