Cass has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Hiram Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cass focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Cass won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-36 walloping at the hands of Dalton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cass has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Cass had strong showings from Jakai Baldwin, who scored three points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Jayden Foster, who scored eight points along with two steals. Baldwin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, even though Calhoun scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Hiram still came out on top. Hiram managed a 71-66 win over the Yellow Jackets. Given Hiram's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cass has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Hiram, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Cass ended up a good deal behind the Hornets in their previous matchup last Thursday, losing 66-49. Can Cass avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
