Reeds Spring is 3-0 against East Newton since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Reeds Spring Wolves will be playing at home against the East Newton Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Reeds Spring ended up a good deal behind Mt. Vernon and lost 42-27.
Meanwhile, East Newton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 38-13 defeat to McDonald County might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, East Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 201st, while McDonald County is ranked 98th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Braxton Wolfe, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Reeds Spring's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for East Newton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Reeds Spring against East Newton in their previous meeting back in August of 2021 as the squad secured a 49-20 win. Will Reeds Spring repeat their success, or does East Newton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
