If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Jones. On Friday they will take on Okemah at 7:00 PM. Jones have bulldozed their previous five opponents, so Okemah might have their hands full.
Jones brought a five-game winning streak into their contest against Henryetta last Thursday; they left with a six-game streak. Jones steamrollered Henryetta 55-0. Jones found their leader in underclassman sophomore Korbin Cox, who rushed for 87 yards and 1 touchdown. That makes it six straight good games in a row from Cox.
As for Okemah, they had a rough outing against Meeker two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Okemah took down Chandler 52-34.
Their wins bumped Jones to 7-1 and Okemah to 5-3. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
