The biggest upset of the week belonged to Skyview, who took down 188th ranked Englewood, 36-0. George Lara threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two yards in the win.
Elizabeth extended the longest winning streak in 3A Metro - East this week by beating Weld Central, 42-20. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Cardinals.
Noah Butler was the best wideout in the league this week as Vista PEAK Prep fell to Fort Morgan. Butler racked up nine receptions for 103 yards. DJ Ortiz helped Vista PEAK Prep's passing attack out by catching four balls for 30 yards.
Nate Alexander was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 235 yards as the Mustangs fell to the Mustangs. Cody Davis also contributed to the rushing game with 68 yards on the ground.
Vista PEAK Prep's Adam Puehler and Ortiz have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Metro - East in both passing and receiving yards. Puehler has thrown for 1475 yards this season, while Ortiz, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 46 catches for 623 yards. The Pirates' Greg Pearson leads the league in rushing yards with 1037.
In 134 carries Alexander has accumulated 948 yard this year.
Fort Morgan led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on Pat Rock's team. Alexander caught one passes for 51 yards in the win.
