The St. Johns Redskins will venture away from home to  challenge the Snowflake Lobos  at 1:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
St. Johns took a loss when they played away from home  two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Morenci, sneaking past  6-5. The  win was some much needed relief for the Redskins as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
St. Johns let  McKray Johnson and  T Platt run wild. Johnson  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Platt  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  Platt has posted since back in April of 2024.  Mark Cox also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hit of the season.
 St. Johns  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in four consecutive  games.
Meanwhile, Snowflake waltzed into their contest  on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Sand Devils 10-0. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten  runs or more this season.
 Kyler Matthews was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave  him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Matthews is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   snagged at least one every time he's  taken the field this season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Skip Bawden, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played.  Tate Matthews was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 St. Johns' record is now 2-5. As for Snowflake, their record now sits at 5-1.
 St. Johns beat Snowflake 11-7  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Johns since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
