This season hasn't been kind to the Blum Bobcats, who are still winless after their 14th match. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 71-53 to Morgan. While losing is never fun, Blum can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1648th, while Morgan is ranked 748th).
It was another big night for Zach Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds for Morgan. Mitchell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Anthony Garcia, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Blum's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-14. As for Morgan, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blum is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for Morgan, they will face off against Walnut Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
