No Stoppin 'Em
Clackamas repeated its 49-point performance from the game before for another record-booster in its most recent game. It was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Oswego, winning 49 - 39. Junior Caleb Jordan deserves a lot of the credit as he threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns. At 88 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Game of Inches
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Mountain View last week (their 4th in a row). It won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by North Medford 43 - 42. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Colton Burkhardt, who tossed the ball for 222 yards and two TDs. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
Movin on Up
Thurston claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder 15 rungs after its game against North Bend. Thurston blew past North Bend 47 - 14. One of the main ringleaders for Thurston was junior Wesley Kommer, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Central Catholic (8th in the power rankings) and Jesuit (10th). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Of course, Central Catholic and Jesuit can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
