Baseball Recap: West Memphis Christian Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, West Memphis Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the DeSoto Thunderbirds. This was payback for the Black Knights, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

West Memphis Christian's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Deagan Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Davis a new career-high in doubles (two).

West Memphis Christian's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-7. As for DeSoto, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

West Memphis Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against DeSoto: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
