Basketball Recap: DAQUA HALL's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brooks Debartolo Collegiate over Southeast

It was a good run, but Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 65-55 to the Southeast Seminoles.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being DAQUA HALL, who went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points. Those 17 points gave HALL a new career-high. Another player making a difference was EMANI BROWN, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Southeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamarri Bivens, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakyrin Smith, who put up 14 points.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Southeast, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

After both having extra time off, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate and Cypress Creek will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. One thing working in Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Southeast, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Braden River at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Southeast is facing Braden River at the right time seeing as Braden River is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
