Katherine Franco stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Varela, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Jordan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 23-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dymally. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Challengers 6-1 in the first period.
Nicole Buenrostro was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Araceli Aguilar was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for George Washington Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Jordan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: George Washington Prep has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Jordan, though, as they've been averaging 11.3 hits. Given George Washington Prep's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
