Saratoga extended their losing streak to nine on Monday, dropping them down to 5-11. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Lions. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.
Anaya Shah was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Shah was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jemma Tsang was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
As for Lincoln, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 28, 2025.
On Lincoln's side, Eva Vasquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Saratoga didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Homestead on the 29th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-11 victory against Pioneer on the 28th.
