Even though the Smyrna Bulldogs scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks still came out on top. Stewarts Creek took down Smyrna 73-59. The win made it back-to-back wins for Stewarts Creek.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stewarts Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tahj Roseburr, who scored 19 points along with four steals. jerry taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Smyrna had strong showings from Ze'keice Mccarver, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Jalylle Batey-roberts, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccarver has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Stewarts Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Smyrna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Stewarts Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Smyrna at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Smyrna focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. After both having extra time off, the pair will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
