Fleming County is 0-4 against Montgomery County since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fleming County got a great performance from Kaleb McIntyre as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave McIntyre a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jett Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Fleming County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Preston Cropper was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rowan County typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Montgomery County proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Vikings 10-3.
Jordan Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rex Turner was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jayse Mays, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Montgomery County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Fleming County, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
