For the first time this season, Resurrection Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to challenge the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Resurrection Christian took on Grand Valley on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cardinals 51-0. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Resurrection Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Britton Walston, who rushed for 44 yards and three touchdowns. Jaxson Pszanka was in the mix as well, providing the Cougars with two TDs.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Resurrection Christian, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mwanje (Mj) Peterson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Resurrection Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Kyle Deakins was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Meanwhile, Manitou Springs kept up with Valley until halftime last Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Vikings put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 43-22 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Resurrection Christian better keep an eye on Caden Surber. He was instrumental in Valley's win, picking up 96 receiving yards and one score. Surber was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 64 yards.
Valley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Manitou Springs to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank Giovannie Hernandez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Valley hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.38 or higher in three consecutive games.
The win got Resurrection Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Valley, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Resurrection Christian against Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-7 win. In that contest, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
