Rugby had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. It was close but no cigar for Rugby as they fell 14-16 to Des Lacs-Burlington on Friday. If Rugby were expecting payback for the 0-20 loss against Des Lacs-Burlington the last time the teams met, then they were shortchanged. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Rugby off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Des Lacs-Burlington a 1-0 record.
Next week, Rugby take on Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 7:00 PM. As for Des Lacs-Burlington, they will face of against Velva.
