Despite the defeat, Piedmont Academy saw an underclassman step up: Corbett Crews dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crews has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Downing, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Piedmont Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Reed Barr was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds for Windsor Academy. Barr continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Cameron Houston was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Piedmont Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-12. As for Windsor Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Piedmont Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Tattnall Square Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Piedmont Academy in Georgia (Tattnall Square Academy is ranked 162nd, while Piedmont Academy is ranked 555th). Windsor Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gatewood at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. One thing working in Gatewood's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
